Hot hot action!
I live on the wrong side of the world for this. The Aurora Borealis has been doing amazing things for people in North America (and Siberia and Scandinavia, I guess) but the magnetic pole is a long way from Tokyo . . . This story on the big solar flare pictured below makes it sound like quite an event for our little planet.

New mirror site up
In case it’s needed, here’s a link to a mirror site for Durf.org. Heh. Heh.
New software
Wow . . . just installed 10.3 on my G4 tower and it made everything go faster. I love this! And Expose is amazing stuff . . . That is all. (At least it’s all until I come across some vital dictionary utility that doesn’t work with the new OS.)
La Musica
Just learned from this story that Radiohead is coming to Japan next year. The band will be at Makuhari Messe on April 17 and 18. I might have to check that out. Tickets go on sale on December 20. <– reminder to self
It would be nice if the group brought along a bunch of CDs of their latest album without the idiotic “protection” scheme that protects me from listening to the music on my computers or my iPod. Screw that. I’ll get an unprotected copy from a record store in a civilized country, or maybe *gasp* look for the songs online . . . Copy protection drives honest man to thievery. How about that.
Online silliness

I like this comic. You can see the full version of the above one right here. This one in particular amused me because it reminded me that every time I sit down at the computer to do a little work I am compelled to check a dozen or so sites that won’t help me get my tasks done any quicker. I browse forums and look at friends’ weblogs and read news sites and computer rumor feeds and this, that, and the other thing, and soon an hour has passed and there I am, a stack of untranslated Japanese in front of me still.
This journal section on my site isn’t going to help anything. *grin*
