A very merry Christmas it was indeed
Or not . . . Too much sickness involved this year. I went to work on the morning of the 25th and felt sort of blah all day. A trip to Enchante in the evening went downhill fast and I started throwing up everything that was put into my body, including water, until the next morning. Went to the office to pick up the laptop and some work to take home and headed back to Koganei, where I slept and slept until Megu came home, She was sick too . . .
So we spent the last few days lying around a lot. I managed to get out to the supermarket nextdoor and buy us stuff to drink (not much appetite for food) and yesterday I went as far afield as the Koganei Central Post Office north of Musashi Koganei station, where an enormous, unwieldy package awaited. Thanks Mom and Dad! Megu is enjoying the sixty-three kilograms of Martha Stewart magazines. Should have called and had the box redelivered . . .
We’re feeling mostly better now. Still lounging around at home. This morning we got the year’s last shipment of food from Radish Boya, this company that delivers organic and almost-organic meat and veggies and rice and eggs and whatnot once a week. These three or four boxes of fresh vegetables meant that we didn’t have to leave the house to forage today, either. And at times like this . . . when the viral stomach bug has knocked thoughts of wine and beer out of our minds and we are feasting on healthy, balanced diets low in fat and other bad stuff . . . it’s almost possible to imagine that we’re getting healthy!
Hope everyone out there is.
