It’s depressing . . . It looks more and more like we’re in for four more years of rule by a below-average guy who bareky eked out a victory but runs his administration like he has a real mandate. Like he’s on a mission from God to push an extremist agenda at the cost of unity within the nation and around the world.

It’s depressing. It will be even more depressing to see him make some asshole comment about “being a uniter” to the frenzied cheers of his supporters just before he goes on to piss all over the half of his own nation that didn’t vote for him.

It’s depressing that my country is increasingly fractured. The blame lies on both sides of the aisle, to be sure, but I place more of it with Bush and his right-wing base. They want power, not unity. They want victory for their personal ideals, not for America.

They are not patriots. They do not support the United States of America; they support a political party. They support an agenda, and the people be damned.

Depressing. Four more years of Ashcroft, Rumsfeld, war, divisive sniping, and bullshit. Four more years of the people who actually support this wondering why people like me would possible find anything wrong with it; four more years of people like me wondering what the hell those other guys are smoking. Four more years of this?

Congratulations, America.
