Thanks to Adam’s amazing skills (“buying stuff I tell him to and shipping it to Japan hidden in a box of Fritos so it sneaks by the customs officials”), I now have a PowerBook full o’ memory. It already feels snappier. I’m sure of it. Well, at least there are no pageouts so far.

Phase B of this plan is to get the desktop up to 2GB . . . That should tide me over for a while longer. Then I can buy the latest and greatest MacIntel machine in late 2007 or whenever.

So . . . Who wants to buy a stick of 512MB RAM from a 12″ PowerBook? And/or four sticks of 256MB from a Sawtooth? Two are PC100 and two are PC133. They’re cheap. I’ve got the best prices on used Mac memory in West Tokyo, I swear.
