Buy Casa Durfee!
Anyone interested in living in the Bay Area? The price is right! Check out this beautiful house. You get great neighbors out of the deal (my parents are moving right next door).

Hey, call today.
A visit to the restaurant
Ron, cousin Kirsten’s husband, made it to Japan as part of a whirlwind tour of East Asia. We went out to dinner for a couple nights in a row and tried to get him over his jet lag so he could fly on to new countries and time zones and rekindle it.
Here we pose at Enchanté with the stained-glass sign made by Pops Durfee and the pumpkin we bought in Kichijoji for the low low price of ¥1,500. Carving time’s a-coming!
Spongebob on the slopes
Some stickers Jes sent over in a package last year . . . Bob and his cat spend some quality time on the slopes of Japan’s mountains each winter.
How to dry your swine
Seen on a translation message board:

内ブタ is “the inner lid,” not an internal pig.
Good news from Japan
Better than the iPod tax thingy by far!

First snow of the winter on Fuji. Must have more . . . more of the white stuff.
Other good news includes the fact that the Yankees lost, so I won’t have to deal with all the fawning coverage of Matsui each night on the TV sports shows, and the fact that Doctor Nakamatsu won an Ig Nobel Prize for chronicling every meal he’s eaten for the past three decades. Awesome!
