Music to my ears.
My stereo served me loyally for many long years. But it died recently, and I went out to Yodobashi to see what there was to replace it. I’m using the same speakers and the same MD deck (which I don’t really use at all, but you know) so I grabbed myself a nice little amp and a CD player to go on the shelf with them:

A couple of nice toys from the Intec 205 series (205 being how wide these things are in millimeters or some such thing).
Welcome Meghan!
I meant to post this a while ago . . . There’s a new addition to the extended Durfee clan. Here she is, Meghan Catherine:

Born Saturday, November 5, 2005, at 5:38 AM. 20 inches, 7 lbs., 2 oz. Congratulations to Tammis and Josh, and also to my aunt Karen, who finally has a granddaughter to go with her several dozen grandsons. (Well, maybe not that many, but they appear more numerous when they move around like that.)
Let’s go skiisogu!
This is, um, unfortunate:

Prominently featured in an article on telemark skiing in Japan in Telemark Skier magazine. Let this be a lesson to everyone who skips the “native speaker proofreading” stage of publicaton to save yen. Or a buck.
Got a review!
I just can’t read the whole thing yet. It’s in a nice place, though.
Time for a trip to Kinokuniya to see if they carry the print edition . . .
Getting ‘em hooked early
You can never start out too soon when it comes to the iPod experience.
