Being Outdone

I am never as energetic as I mean to be when it comes to updating this site. I have been looking into ways to make it easier to add my thoughts, or more interactive, but all my research into these possibilities end up eating away the time I could spend to write some crap here. So today I will write some crap here about the ways I have been eating away my time.

First things first: I want to change hosts for this site. I am using Yahoo right now, but for the price I'm paying I could be getting lots more space and some nifty features that I don't have now. For instance, I would like to fire up some discussion forums of some kind, but the phpBB software that looks like a good way to do this doesn't run on my current server setup.

So I'm looking for a new home for this site . . . one very cheap one offers a package under $10 a month that will give me loads of space and the database framework I need for forums and whatnot. But I am not sure about its reliability. Another service offers hosting on Apple Xserves, which sounds good to me. It's a bit pricier than the other option, but I'd be supporting a company that supports Mac and I would have the forum environment ready to go. This place also offers webmail, which is a bonus for everyone with a durf.org address.

A Model to Ape

A fellow at my company has a site up at kenloo.com. That one's Japanese; he has English here. It's a simple layout, but he uses the Movable Type software to great effect, updating five or ten times for every time I post something new here. He has the right idea, though. Post little things when you feel like it; don't wait for the Very Important Document to filter through your mind in perfect web-ready form. Throw up some pictures when you take them. Post post post.

That's what I'm trying to do right now.

My Other Site

All right, so one excuse I have is my recent work on another site. The Enchante site is now up and running, and ready to be linked to. I made the banner you see below; feel free to use it to link to enchante.jp (or enchante.jp/index-e.html for the English page) and get some business flowing that way!

And last, but certainly least, I made a favicon for the JAT page. It looks like and it will soon show up in the address bar when you surf to jat.org.
