Big icy photos

By popular demand . . . here are some high-resolution versions of the icy trees and snowy hills that showed up toward the end of all those ski photos I put up the other day. Use them for wallpaper on your computer or whatever. They are all 1024x1280 or 1280x1024 pixels in size, depending on whether they are tall or wide.

We stayed in Naeba and took the "world's longest gondola" up to Tashiro, which has a higher elevation and nicer snow. These were all taken up there, at about 1,700 meters' elevation.

I have these in even higher resolution, but I don't think uploading MB-size .jpg files would do anyone any good. If you really want a big one, let me know. (All listed sizes are what I see on my G4; they might not be accurate once these get uploaded and downloaded to who knows where.)

More backlighting. As always, I am very happy with the way this camera handles shots into the sun.

More of the same, but horizontal . . .

snow6.jpg

Looks black and white . . . almost like an ink painting.

More monochrome-like goodness; this time with a bit of solar glare.

Similar to number 6.
